Since the day start, the Russian-led armed formations violated the Minsk agreements and shelled Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Colonel Dmytro Hutsulyak said.
“In the period from 08:40 to 09:35 the enemy fired 6 shells from 82mm mortars at Ukrainian defenders near Lebedynske, as well as resorted to grenade launchers and small arms. The enemy opened fire from the direction of Sahanka settlement,” Hutsulyak said.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian soldiers opened fire in response using small arms.
“No casualties have been reported since the beginning of this day in a result of the shelling,” the representative of the Ministry of Defense said.
