Militants use banned weapons to shell Ukrainian army positions in Donbas

On April 2, the Russian-led armed formations launched 11 shelling on the Joint Forces positions, six of them using 120mm and 82mm mortars prohibited by the Minsk agreements. This was reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation.

No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day.

In the zone of responsibility of the Skhid [East] tactical group the enemy attacked three times from 120mm and 82mm mortars launching in total 24 mortar shells. The enemy also resorted to grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns to attack Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka. The enemy opened fire from the direction of the occupied settlements of Spartak, Kashtanovo and Mineralnoe. According to the defenders of Pavlopil, the enemy fired six 120mm mortar shells. The enemy stopped shelling after receiving fire in responce.

Under the enemy fire came Pisky settlement – the occupiers used 82mm mortars, hand held anti-tank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. From the Sakhanka side, the invaders fired two dozen 82mm mortar shells at Ukrainian fortified positions near Shyrokine.

On April 2, the enemy fired JF positions near Bohdanivka and Starohnativka from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms.
