The Defense Ministry is going to order two batches of modernized ZSU-23-4M-A1 Shilka AA system, said Ihor Voloshchuk, general director of the Arsenal plant.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense is interested in these weapons and provides all the necessary support.

“The contract is being concluded. All the necessary materials have been transferred to us by the Ministry of Defense. According to the plan, the contract should be concluded in the near future as part of this year’s state order. Also, an order for a certain number of units of this equipment in State defense order for 2021 is being additionally considered,” Voloshchuk said.

The Ministry of Defense noted that in order to equip the anti-aircraft units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the modernized ZSU-23-4M-A1, the implementation of this measure is included in the state defense order for 2020.

“In conditions of limited financial resources, including due to the consequences of quarantine measures, the company has prepared a production base. The corresponding work began back in 2019 and in November of this year provided the Ministry of Defense with the necessary calculations with conclusions for the preparation of a draft state contract,” the ministry said.

It is known that according to the plan, the first contract with the state enterprise Arsenal plant will be signed this year.
