Minsk talks: Demining near bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska, identification and transfer of human remains

During the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the settlement of the situation in Donbas, the parties agreed on August 1 to begin demining of the territories adjacent to the bridge in Stanyitsia Luhanska.

This was reported by the press secretary of Ukrainian envoy to the TCG, ex-president Leonid Kuchma’s Darka Olifer.

“The Ukrainian side has submitted its proposals on the repair of the bridge in the Stanytsia Luhanska. Also, an agreement was reached to begin demining the territories adjacent to the bridge from August 1,” the speaker said.

“Before the start of repairmen works on the bridge, the checkpoint and symbols of quasi-formations of the illegal armed groups of the ORDLO should be removed, the subsequent dismantling of the fortifications in the area of ​​Stanytsia Luhanska should be conducted simultaneously and clearly,” Olifer emphasized.

During the meeting in Minsk, the parties also agreed to coordinate algorithms for identifying and transferring the human remains.

“The humanitarian subgroup continues to work on confirming the detainees and preparing everything necessary for the further release of people. The work on the search for missing persons has been intensified: in the near future, algorithms for identifying and transferring the human remains will be agreed upon,” the spokesperson said.

She also said that the subgroup on socio-economic issues working on issues of life support for Donbas.
