Money amount in Ukraine grew by almost 30% over past year

The volume of money supply in Ukraine in December 2020 increased by 4.7% to UAH 1 850,5 billion. Over the entire year, the money supply increased by 28.7% (by UAH 412,2 billion). This was reported by the press center of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

To the NBU, one of the components of the money supply – cash in circulation outside banks – has grown rapidly in 2020. The volume of cash outside banks increased by 35% (by UAH 131,3 billion) to UAH 515,7 billion.

Recall, according to the NBU, as of October 1, 2020, amount of cash in Ukraine equaled UAH 515.8 billion.
