Scammers caused losses to the state bank by almost UAH 1 bln

The group of fraudsters that is suspected of stealing the collateral of one of the state banks are exposed in Zaporizhya. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

It became known that the state financial institution concluded a loan agreement with a commercial structure with a limit of a credit line for almost UAH 700 million. In accordance with the terms of the contract, the property of the company was pledged to the bank. At the same time, the credit funds received were transferred to the accounts of offshore companies, and the pledge assets of the enterprise were illegally withdrawn from the state control of the bank in favor of third parties.
As a result of the illegal actions, the state bank suffered damage of almost a UAH 1 billion.
Two persons involved in the case were informed of suspicions.
At present, measures are being taken to recover illegally expropriated assets.
