IMF recommends Ukraine to maintain stability and continue reforms

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) strongly recommends Ukraine to maintain the achieved macroeconomic stability and continue deeper structural reforms for sustainable economic growth and rising living standards of citizens.

This was stated by the IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde following her meeting with Ukrainian presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, UNIAN reports.

According to the IMF director, the conversation was devoted to the latest economic events in Ukraine and the need in continuation of implementation economic reform program under the current agreement with the IMF, including anti-corruption reform.

“I stressed the urgent need for Ukraine to preserve the successes achieved in restoring macroeconomic stability and to continue deeper structural reforms necessary to achieve more sustainable economic growth and raise the standard of living for citizens on an ongoing basis,” she said.
