JFO: Nine militants injured over past day in Donbas

Over the past day, February 26, Russian occupation forces violated the cease-fire regime 11 times in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, using mortars. As a result, three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were injured, the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported.

In the area of activity of the operational-tactical group Vostok (“East”), the militants attacked Ukrainian fortified positions two times:

  • using automatic machine-gun grenade launchers and heavy machine guns in the area of the settlement of Verkhniotoretske;
  • using 120-mm mortars near Lebedynske village.
    In the area of activity of the operational-tactical group Sever (“North”), the enemy open fire at JFO positions nine times:
  • three times using 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, as well as armament mounted on combat infantry vehicles and small arms in the area of the settlement Novoluhanske;
  • two times using 82-mm mortars, weapons mounted on IFVs, heavy machine guns and small arms near the town of Popasna;
  • using 120-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms near the village of Khutir Vilniy;
  • using 82-mm mortars and anti-tank grenade launchers near the village of Malynove;
  • using 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers and heavy machine guns in the area of Lobachevo;
  • using 82-mm mortars near the village of Krymske.
    Units of the Joint Forces conducted an active defense and gave an adequate response to the enemy.
    According to intelligence data, on February 26, nine occupiers were wounded. In addition, one unit of enemy military equipment was destroyed.
    As The Journalist reported, Petro Poroshenko signed the Law on the Unified State Register of Veterans.
