National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have begun experiment in Germany. During the meeting, experts will study the effect of artificial gravity on the human body, Engadget reports.

Volunteers at the German Aerospace Center will spend 60 days in bed starting on March 25th at an incline that will send blood away from their heads. Once a day, volunteers will take a spin in the Center’s short-arm centrifuge in a bid to send blood back toward their legs.

As part of the planned activities, experts want to understand how artificial gravity can help astronauts who are in space to maintain their health. In addition, researchers want to identify what gravitational effects would be necessary to prevent muscles from weakening.

As The Journalist reported, NASA astronauts had problems in outer space.
