The National Bank of Ukraine: Ukraine’s foreign reserves goes up over past month

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) announced the growth of foreign reserves in April. This is reported by the NBU’s press center.
In April, 2018 Ukraine’s international reserves rose by 1.3% and as of May 1, amounted to $ to $18.4 billion. The current volume covers 3.3 months of future imports.
Over the month, the National Bank of Ukraine bought $326.7 million and sold only $24 million.
Ukraine’s state-guaranteed debt allowed to receive in reserve for the last month € 83.6 million. Revaluation of financial instruments (change in market value, hryvnia exchange rate against foreign currencies) amounting to $59.2 million and other operations worth $11.3 million have also affected the reserves volume.
$127.4 million was allocated from the reserves. $30,8 million of them goes for maintenance and repayment of Ukraine’s state-guaranteed debt.
