Negotiations on the conditions for the transit of Russian gas to the European market through Ukraine are underway in Brussels, Ukrinform reported.
The negotiations are planned to be held in several stages. The round of bilateral consultations between the European Commission and the Ukrainian delegation, with the participation of the Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel and the CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Koboliev, has just launched at the European Commission.
After that, the European Commission will hold bilateral talks with the Russian delegation, headed by the Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak. The next stage: trilateral negotiations chaired by the Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič with the participation of delegations of the European Commission, Ukraine and Russia.
