Number coronavirus cases in Ukraine exceed 20,000

The number of laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ukraine exceeded 20,000, with 442 up on previous day. This was reported in the Coronavirus info Telegram channel.

As of 9 a.m. on May 22, the total number of patients with COVID-19 in Ukraine totals 20,148.

Over the past day, 442 people were infected with coronavirus, including 29 children and 74 health workers. Some 127 people were hospitalized. At the same time, 358 people recovered, 9 people died from coronavirus.

During the pandemic, 20,148 people fell ill, including 1,434 children, as well as 3,990 health workers. At the same time, 6,585 people recovered, and 588 died.

The overall number of cases in Ukraine by oblasts, as follows: Vinnytsia oblast – 824 cases (441 recovered), Volyn oblast – 740 cases (177 recovered), Dnipropetrivsk oblast – 859 cases (176 recovered), Donetsk oblast – 141 cases (58 recovered), Zhytomyr oblast – 607 cases (273 recovered), Zakarpattia oblast – 1,003 cases (255 recovered), Zaporizhzhia oblast – 401 cases (221 recovered), Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 1,268 cases (596 recovered), Kirovohrad oblast – 460 cases (354 recovered), Kyiv oblast – 1,354 cases (262 recovered), Lviv oblast – 1.240 cases (250 recovered), Luhansk oblast – 43 cases (33 recovered), Mykolaiv oblast – 277 cases (109 recovered), Odesa oblast – 814 cases (106 recovered), Poltava oblast – 266 cases (218 recovered), Rivne oblast – 1,323 cases (453 recovered), Sumy oblast – 166 cases (106 recovered), Ternopil oblast – 1,105 cases (720 recovered), Kharkiv oblast – 866 cases (208 recovered), Kherson oblast – 173 cases (133 recovered), Khmelnitska oblast –299 cases (89 recovered), Chernivtsi oblast – 2,905 cases (752 recovered), Cherkasy oblast – 383 cases (227 recovered) and Chernihiv oblast – 119 cases (41 recovered). In Kyiv, Covid-19 cases totaled 2,522 (338 recovered).
