The trade turnover of agricultural and food products between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2017 amounted to USD 180 million. Of these, USD 170 million for the export of Ukrainian agrarian goods. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on its website.
It is known that the main export commodities were oil, bird eggs, oilseeds, cereals, sugar, etc.
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food for European Integration Olha Trofimtseva and UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Economic and Commercial Affairs Mohammed Sharaf discussed the main prospects and potential for further deepening trade and economic relations.
During the meeting, Olha Trofimtseva noted the positive dynamics in the development of trade relations between Ukraine and the UAE.
«Among commodity groups, which can be exported to the UAE market in large volumes, include honey, confectionery and chocolate products, meat and offal, vegetables and fruits, beans and their products, the whole range of organic products and many others,» – said Mrs Trofimtseva.
Mohammed Sharaf called Ukraine as a very strong player in the world agricultural and food markets and a reliable partner «who can effectively and on the basis of long-term mutually beneficial relations be an important part of ensuring the UAE’s food security.»
