Jaroslaw Kaczynski has announced the launch of two election campaigns for his Law and Justice (PiS) party. Shortly, six opposition parties have united in a bloc called the European Coalition. Alliance members intend to oppose the ruling party in the elections to the European Parliament and during the presidential and parliamentary elections in Poland, TVN24 reports.
The bloc included the Modern political party, Civic Platform party, Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), the Polish People’s Party, the Greens and the Now! Party. The Chairman of the Civic Platform party, Grzegorz Schetyna, said that the bloc is being created to defend Poland “from anti-European forces, from those who weaken and destroy Poland’s position in the European Union.” The European Coalition is also preparing to take part in presidential and parliamentary elections.
“The struggle begins. We understand that this is the beginning of the election campaign, the whole electoral system, which will end in April next year with presidential elections, after the European campaign and the parliamentary campaign to the Sejm and the Senate finished,” Shetyna said.
As The Journalist reported, Moldovan businessman Vladimir Plahotniuc had passed to the Moldovan Parliament.
