On October 14, a regular online meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) with the participation of delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation and with the moderation of the OSCE took place, the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU) reports.

According to the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Yaşar Halit, political issues on which the meeting of the group is not as productive as would like to be, should not come first in the work of the group on security issues.

“In particular, the need to resolve the issue of an updated mine clearance plan was noted, which is especially important in connection with the approach of winter,” Yaşar Halit said.

Preventing the blocking of the TCG work, proposals for an action plan for the implementation of the Package of Measures for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements were also discussed while settling political issues.

According to the OSCE Coordinator of the Humanitarian Working Group, Ambassador Toni Frisch, the Ukrainian side handed over a list of four categories of such persons on the mutual release of detainees.

“No information has been provided from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine,” the OPU stressed.

In addition, Toni Frisch stated the readiness of the parties to simultaneously open two new checkpoints in the Luhansk region in the first ten days of November in pursuance of the agreements of the Normandy Four summit in Paris in December 2019.
