Darka Olifer, spokeswoman for the ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, the representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group has said that the parties of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on settling the situation in Donbas agreed on the mutual release of the prisoners by the end of the year.
“During the video conference of the TCG, was reached an agreement on the mutual release of the prisoners by the end of the year, as stipulated by the results of the Normandy Four summit in Paris,” Olifer said.
At the same time, the Russian news agency TASS reported that the representative of the Russian Federation in the TCG, Boris Gryzlov, announced the approval of the conditions for the release and exchange of prisoners before the end of this year.
According to Gryzlov, “an extraordinary meeting of the contact group was held in the video conferencing mode.”
“The meeting was dedicated to the issue of release and exchange of prisoners between Kyiv and Donbas,” Gryzlov said.
It is emphasized that “the discussion took place, and this time it has concrete results.”
