The acting Head of the Pentagon, Patrick Shanahan, has authorized to execute up to USD 1 billion to build a wall on the border with Mexico. This is reported by the press service of the US Department of Defense.
“Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan authorized the commander of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to begin planning and executing up to $1 billion in support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Patrol,” the agency said in a statement.
The report notes that these funds will be used to build 91 km long fencing on the southern border of the United States, improving roads and installing lighting within the Yuma (Arizona) and El Paso (Texas).
