On the eve of May 15, a photo documentary exhibition opened on the Kyiv City Administration (KSCA) on Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression, the press service of the KSCA reported.

The exhibition “Crossing the Kyv’s Styx” tells about the fate of Kyiv Greeks who were shot as a result of “Greek operation” – mass repressions against representatives of the Greek community in all republics of the USSR.

“In the twentieth century, unfortunately, there were so many dark pages in the history of Ukraine. Political ambitions led to the fact that a large number of Ukrainians, national minorities living on the territory of Ukraine, without trial, were destroyed for specific political purposes – the establishment of a communist ideology,” said Dmytro Zagumenny, KSCA head of administration.

According to data that were recently made public by the SBU, from 1935 to 1951, more than 2.8 million citizens of Ukraine and national minorities living in Ukraine were killed.

Recall that the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression is an annual national memorial day in Ukraine, which falls on the third Sunday of May – May 19.

As the “Journalist” reported, a petition on the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide appeared on the website of the German parliament.
