Poland detains former Ukravtodor CEO Slawomir Nowak

The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of Poland has detained the former Minister of Transport of Poland and former head of the Ukraine’s State Agency of Automobile Roads (Ukravtodor) Slawomir Novak. This was announced by Stanislav Zarin, the press secretary of the Minister-Coordinator of Polish Special Services.

Two more persons were detained: Dariusz Zawadka, the former commander of JW GROM military unit and businessman from Gdansk, Jacek P.

To media, Dariusz Zawadka was commander of the military unit of the Polish Special Forces JW GROM and Jacek Piechota was the chairman of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

The press secretary of the regional prosecutor’s office in Warsaw, Miroslawa Chyr, in her comment to the PAP Polish outlet noted that “the ex-minister of Transport Slawomir N. was detained on suspicion of running an organized criminal group and money laundering.”
