From April 8, thousands of schools in Poland have canceled educational process over the indefinite general strike of the trade unions of teachers, RMF24 reports.

Teachers demand a 30% salary increase. Negotiations of representatives of trade unions with the government, which continued throughout the past week, did not show desired results. The government proposed a gradual increase in salaries with a corresponding increase in workloads. Only one of the trade unions agreed to such conditions.

The other two large organizations – the Union of Polish Teachers and the Trade Unions Forum – start an indefinite strike from 8 a.m. on April 8.

As The Journalist reported, 80% of teachers in Poland intend to start an indefinite strike.
