The European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ) announced it had stripped the Polish National Judicial Council (KRS) of its voting rights and excluded it from the network. This is reported by the ENCJ press service.
As it became known, the Polish National Judicial Council does not meet the requirements of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary due to the reforms, adopted in Poland.
In turn, it is the condition of ENCJ membership, that institutions are independent of the executive and legislature and ensure the final responsibility for the support of the judiciary in the independent delivery of justice.
The report notes that the European Network of Councils described the move as a «very sad day, as KRS was one of the founders of the network.»
ENCJ represents the judiciary bodies from different EU countries and acts as a consultative body for EU institutions.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Ukrainian journalist was accused of illegal activities in Kazakhstan.
