Petro Poroshenko, during his speech on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the creation of the National Guard of Ukraine, said that today more than 20,000 contract servicemen serve in the ranks of the National Guard, hundreds of pieces of equipment have been supplied to its units, Ukrinform reports.
The president also stressed that hundreds automobiles and armored vehicles had been transferred to the military units of the National Guard. In total, equipment worth almost a billion hryvnias was delivered to the National Guard in 2018.
“Now the National Guard is a powerful force that has modern weapons, equipment. The fighters feel confident in any situation,” the head of state emphasized.
