Restoration of a political dialogue with Russia is possible only after the de-occupation of Donbas and Crimea, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this at the Freedom of Speech program on ICTV.
“Only when the occupation is terminated, when the occupation troops will be withdrawn from the territories of Donbas and Crimea, when the war stops, when Ukrainian political prisoners will be released, including Ukrainian sailors, will we return to the political dialogue with the Russian Federation,” the head of state said.
At the same time Poroshenko stated the inadmissibility of the presence of Russian observers in the Ukrainian elections.
“The occupant country cannot send its observers in order to assess how elections are held in Ukraine. This is nonsense. When someone tried to put pressure on us, I took an open position and said that we would not allow Russian observers,” the president stressed.
As The Journalist reported, Poroshenko said Putin signed in Minsk clauses on introduction peacekeepers in Donbas.
