Russia will be forced to agree the introduction of peacekeepers in Donbas, as provided for by the appropriate UN Security Council decision.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the Pryamiy TV channel.

According to the president, this plan provides for the decision of the UN Security Council on the introduction of a peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the UN, which will disarm illegal armed groups in the occupied territories of Donbas.

“Russia will have to withdraw its occupying forces from the territory of Donbas, as well as ensure the withdrawal of heavy equipment and artillery from the occupied territory. It will also ensure that all security conditions are made to start a political process. Ukraine’s control over the uncontrolled section of the Russian-Ukrainian border will be restored,” Poroshenko said.

The head of state recalled that “all these clauses of the Minsk agreements were signed by Putin. And today, peacekeepers will be the guarantors of the implementation of these provisions.”

In addition, the issue of de-occupation of the Crimea is still being actively discussed with Ukraine’s partners – NATO member countries.

Poroshenko stressed that Russia is already paying a high price for this, and is suffering serious losses in the economy as a result of the sanctions imposed on it by the world.

As The Journalist reported, Poroshenko announced the creation of a government hotline for consultations.
