Poroshenko: Russia loses USD 150 billion over the sanctions, USD 4 billion spending on occupation of Crimea and Donbas annually

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Russia spends USD 4 billion a year on maintenance of occupation regime in Crimea and Donbas.

Petro Poroshenko said this on the air of the NV Radio.

According to the head of state, the Ukrainian Platform for the de-occupation of the Crimea based on resolution of the UN General Assembly was created.

Poroshenko noted that within the framework of this platform Ukraine is coordinating “legal actions” to bring the aggressor country to justice for the illegal annexation of Crimea and “on the protection of investments”, “on violation of the rights and freedoms of citizens”, “on violation of the Convention on Freedom of Shipping in Kerch Strait.

“Today we have 11 cases that are clearly coordinated, and Russia should be responsible for all these cases,” the president added.

“The price Russia is losing as a result of the sanctions … an independent agency Bloomberg said that Russia has lost USD 150 billion or 10% of GDP because of the international sanctions. These days, Russia spends more than $4 billion a year on the maintenance of the occupation regimes in Crimea and Donbas. It is a big burden for Russia in the present-day situation,” Poroshenko said.

As The Journalist reported, Poroshenko ordered SBU to consider Medvechuk ’s effectiveness in Minsk talks.
