“From March 1, the government introduces a new practice – the automatic indexation of pensions. As a result of indexation, pensions of more than 8 million retired persons will rise. For certain categories, including the military, payments have been already increased. And from March 1, indexation will take place, which will be held continuously,” the president noted.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, during a meeting on indexation of pensions with the participation of the head of state, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that such an increase would be automatic in the future, which would completely remove the political implications of the pension issue.

“We are starting a new stage in the reform of the pension system. In 2017, we faced the task of building a fair system, overcoming the deficit of the Pension Fund and avoiding raising the retirement age. We did it. And from October 2017, we began to recalculate pensions. Every next year we will recalculate pensions in order to overcome the key challenge – the poverty of pensioners,” said Groysman.

As The Journalist reported, the EBRD will help to implement over 150 business projects in Ukraine.
