The President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, as part of his official visit to Ukraine, honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.

In particular, were laid flowers at the sculpture “Bitter Memory of Childhood”. The Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration for the implementation of self-government powers, Oleksandr Kharchenko, and other high-ranking officials took part in the event.

“An official delegation from the Republic of Poland headed by President Andrzej Duda paid a working visit to Kyiv. The delegation planned to visit a number of iconic objects of the capital. Today we honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine. It was the Republic of Poland that was one of the first to internationally recognize the Holodomor as an act of genocide against Ukrainians. It is very important to maintain relations with states that share our ideological positions,” Oleksandr Kharchenko said.
