President Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to recall draft law No. 2598 on decentralization of power registered before. This was reported by the President’s press service.
This decision was made following a meeting between the head of state and the chairman and deputy chairmen of the faction of the political party “Servant of the People.”
“The President and the deputies expressed a common opinion that introducing amendments to the Constitution regarding the decentralization reform requires detailed discussion and consultation with representatives of all parties,” the statement said.
The participants of the meeting agreed that the development of local self-government should be combined with effective constitutional mechanisms to protect state sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.
