President of Football Federation of Ukraine, Andriy Pavelko, said that the Croatian national football team, the ex-player of FC Dynamo (Kyiv) Domagoj Vida has the right to show respect to Ukraine and its citizens publicly.

This Pavelko wrote on his Facebook page, commenting on the situation surrounding the video clip where the football player after the Croatian national team’s victory over the Russian team in 1/4 World Cup 2018 screams the slogan «Glory to Ukraine».

«Football Federation of Ukraine and I personally took a strong position in the situation around the Croatian national team player Domagoi Vida after the team’s victory in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup», said Pavelko. – A soccer player who has defended the honor of Dynamo Kyiv for many years and lived in the capital of Ukraine during a very difficult time for our country, here he left many friends and fans, who deserved that part of this victory he devoted to them! Over the past few years the appeal «Glory to Ukraine!» has become for our citizens a symbol of inflexibility and patriotism! He has the right to express respect to Ukraine and its citizens publicly!».

As «Journalist» reported FIFA issued a formal warning to the Croatian defender for the words «Glory to Ukraine!».
