USA will support Ukrainian Interior Ministry Program on Police and Rescuers Housing Assistance

The program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on providing housing for police officers and rescuers on leasing terms is ready to be supported by the US Department of State. This was discussed during a meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and US Deputy Secretary of State Kirsten Madison in Washington, on February 11, Slovo i Dilo reports.
“We received support on structural mechanisms for the implementation of this program, which concerns about 200,000 people, and interacts with international financial institutions,” said Avakov.
According to Avakov, the program has already attracted about EUR 340 million and UAH 2 billion.
"I believe we will see the first contracts with police officers and rescuers in March," the minister added.
As for now, over 5,000 applications were received in the framework of the motivation program.
To get a house, a person need to sign a contract based on a mortgage of up to 20-year preferential financial leasing, taking into account the full repayment of interest from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the bonus repayment of up to 40% of leasing.
