Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada speaker Dmytro Razumkov signed the law on a special procedure for dismissing the president of Ukraine from power, or impeachment (#1012).

The bill was returned with the signature of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada on September 19. The law is forwarded for signature to the president.

On September 10, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill “On a special procedure for dismissing the president of Ukraine from power, or impeachment.”

The law provides for the possibility of dismissal of the president from power in the event he commits high treason or other crime.

The law determines that a written submission signed by a majority of the MPs of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (more than 226), whose signatures are not withdrawn, is the basis for initiating impeachment.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky dismissed heads of Cherkasy and Mykolaiv oblasts RSA.
