Repair of Kyiv-Kharkiv highway within Poltava Oblast to be completed by end of 2020

Ukraine plans to complete repair of the M-03 Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhansky highway within the Poltava Oblast in 2020, Centre for Transport Strategies reports.

The total length of the road within the Poltava oblast is 285 km.

In total, 265 km of roads are on the balance of the service in the region. Another 4 km of the road (336 + 653-km340 + 693) that passes through Poltava is on the balance of the city council, due to a question about the repair of which the project of the complete update of the M-03 road was frozen for some time.

“The section of the Kyiv-Kharkiv route that passes through Poltava has remained a stumbling block for many years. This year, thanks to the coordinated cooperation of all branches of government, we managed to attract financing for the repair of the problem area,” the head of Ukravtodor Oleksandr Kubrak said.

Reconstruction works on the M-03 highway are underway, in particular, work continues on the implementation of the joint project with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development “Improving Roads and Traffic Safety”; The construction of the first stage of the bypass of the city of Poltava and the implementation of the project for the reconstruction of the M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway on the Poltava-Kharkiv section (about 66 km) are currently underway.

In addition, in 2020 it is planned to complete work on the bypass of the city of Lubny with the commissioning of 13 km of the Category I highway and 266 linear meters of the bridge across the Sula River and the overpass through the railway.
