Reporters Without Borders claims that fifty journalists were killed during 2020 due to their professional activities. This is stated in the second part of the report of the human rights organization on the state of freedom of speech in the world, which was made public on December 29, reports DW.

Human rights activists claim that most of these journalists were deliberately killed because of their investigations into corruption, organized crime or environmental damage.

In addition, several media workers were killed while covering mass demonstrations.

The organization also noted that in this matter the situation in the world has hardly changed compared to the previous year.
