Slobodyan: “Migrant” operation will be conducted throughout Ukraine from March 1

Ukraine to launch “Migrant” operation in the spring to identify and expel persons illegally staying in the state, said the assistant to the head of the State Border Guard Service – press secretary Oleh Slobodyan.

“According to the order by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from March 1 to May 31, are planned targeted preventive measures in Ukraine to supervise and monitor the implementation of migration legislation called “Migrant”. The State Migration Service, the State Border Service, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine will be involved in the operation,” Slobodyan said.

Also, he added that the preparation stage will last from March 1 to March 15, and the practical stage of operation will start from March 16 and will last to May 31.

The main purpose of the operation is to prevent and counter illegal migration, as well as to check the compliance of foreigners and stateless persons with the rules of stay in Ukraine.
