Chair of the Executive Committee of the National Reform Council in Ukraine under the President of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili once again made scandalous statements to the Georgian authorities, saying that removing the current pro-Russian government of Georgia would also be beneficial for the Ukrainian state, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“I believe that removing the pro-Russian government of Georgia is in the interests of Ukraine and Ukrainian people, too. But that’s my personal opinion. I do not express the opinion of either the president or others on this issue, because I am not an official civil servant of Ukraine. This is my very firm personal position,” Saakashvili emphasized.

According to him, no one can “prohibit a Georgian from being a Georgian, even if he has a Ukrainian passport and is a patriot of Ukraine.”

A few days earlier, Saakashvili criticized the Georgian authorities and stated that he did not recognize the legitimacy of the Georgian government.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that Ukraine appreciates the strategic partnership with Georgia, confirms its readiness to develop bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness, and public statements by unauthorized persons cannot be considered as the position of the state.
