The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) opened criminal proceedings against abuse of power by employees of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) when conducting on-site inspections of banks and inspections for compliance with legislation on financial monitoring and currency legislation.
According to the NBU’s website, the regulator has no facts about the allegations against employees of the Department of Financial Monitoring and the Bank Inspections Department, and therefore cannot comment on them, but is ready to fully cooperate with the investigation and hopes for an unbiased investigation, UNIAN informs.
In particular, the National Bank promised to provide all the necessary information if the law enforcement agencies provide relevant evidence of the illegal activities of the National Bank employees.
