The FSB purposefully persecutes pro-Ukrainian locals in the occupied Crimea. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to intelligence, FSB officials are forcing citizens living in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea to illegally gather personal data on pro-Ukrainian residents of the peninsula.

It is noted that such proposals are primarily received by staffers of local internet provider. They are required to illegally gather personal data and report on the content people distribute in social networks and other private user data. It is clarified that in this case, the FSB officers resort to blackmail, threats, intimidation, physical and psychological pressure, and setting up compromising situations.

Counterintelligence also found that a representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, a former officer of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Crimea, Dmytro Karelin, was actively involved in this illegal activity.

As The Journalist reported, militants conduct census in occupied Donbas.
