Seven new nature reserves in Donetsk Oblast

In Donetsk oblast (Aleksandrovsk district) seven new nature reserves of local significance have been announced, as reported the press service of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration.

The report notes that the total area of new nature reserves is 338.72 hectares, including the “Tonenka” botanical reserve of local significance; “Berestova”, “Shakhan 1”, “Shakhan 2”, “Glukhovsky Forest”, “Krutenke” “Balky” landscape reserves of local importance.

In particular, the area of he Tonenka reserve is 15.92 hectares, Berestova – 57 hectares, Shakhan – 1 10.8 hectares, Shakhan 2 – 48 hectares, Glukhovsky Forest – 23 hectares, Krutenke – 77 hectares and Balky – 107 hectares.
