Several countries lift restrictions on import of chicken meat from Ukraine

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported that several countries lifted restrictions on imports of poultry meat from Ukraine, which were introduced in connection with the outbreak of bird flu in the Vinnytsia oblast in January.

“In particular, as of March 30, restrictions on Ukrainian poultry meat were lifted by Iraq and Singapore; United Arab Emirates recognized 25 km zoning; EU, Israel, Moldova recognized 10 km zoning applied by the competent authority of Ukraine; Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait recognized regionalization restrictions,” the department said.

On January 20, veterinarians recorded the first since 2017 case of bird flu in Ukraine at agricultural enterprise in Vinnytsia oblast; more than 100,000 birds were destroyed as a result.
