The US Senate passed a bill on sanctions against Syria and its allies, including Russia and Iran.

According to the document, the restrictions will be imposed for military assistance to the Syrian President Bashar Assad and for cooperation with his government in the supply of aircraft spare parts and trade in petroleum products, Radio Liberty reports.

In addition to the sanctions, the bill on “Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East” includes an amendment warning against the hasty withdrawal of troops from Syria and Afghanistan.

The senators also supported the continuation of military cooperation with Jordan and provision of more than USD 3 billion military aid to Israel.

In addition, the bill provides for sanctions for the economic boycott of Israel.

The bill was introduced by Republican Mitch McConnell. The document was backed by 77 senators, with 23 voted against it. Now it must be approved by the House of Representatives, which is controlled by the Democrats.

As The Journalist reported, Trump said that US will surpass China and Russia in arms race.
