On Sunday, September 9, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, in front of the local Serb population in Kosovska Mitrovica, said that the Kosovo authorities needed to reach a compromise that would allow both countries to join the European Union.

«I came here to tell you that in future we must find a compromise with Albanians, although we will have to sacrifice much. We want to be part of the EU, Kosovo Albanians are seeking a visa-free travel with the EU. And in order to achieve this, we must live with each other», Vučić stressed.

It should be noted that the Serbian president is on a visit to Kosovo on September 8-9 visiting Serbian communities in the north, reports Ukrinform.

Yesterday near Bane village local Albanian veterans blocked the road and did not miss Vučić, demanding an apology from him for the war of 1998-1999. After this incident, Serbian president returned to Mitrovica, where he made this statement.
Recall that Serbia officially does not recognize independence of Kosovo, proclaimed in 2008. Both countries aspire to become members of the EU, but for this they must resolve territorial disputes.

As The Journalist reported Ukraine and Serbia agreed to sign the Free Trade Agreement.
