Six countries join EU’s ‘Crimean sanctions’ against Russia

Six European countries – the candidate countries for accession to the European Union, Montenegro and Albania, the European Free Trade Association countries Norway and Iceland, as well as Ukraine and Georgia – have supported the European Union’s decision to extend sanctions against the aggressor country for its illegal annexation of Crimea.

The EU Council decided to extend the sanctions against the Russian Federation until June 23, 2021, according to the website of the European Council.

The EU has extended the sanctions against the Russian Federation for a year due to the annexation of Crimea. Restrictive measures will be valid until June 23, 2021. The ‘Crimean sanctions’ provides for a ban on the import of goods from Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as ban on the investments, travel services, the issuance of visas and the supply of technology.
