Some 135,000 law enforcement officers will be on duty to ensure order during the early parliamentary elections on July 21.

This was stated by the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Stoiko.

“There will be approximately 135,000 law enforcement officers, including everyone – the police, border guards, employees of the State Emergencies Service and the National Guard. Everyone will be on duty,” Stoiko said.

The adviser to the minister clarified that 70,000–75,000 National Police officers would be involved in policing on July 21, adding that accurate number of security officials would be determined precisely closer to the election day. According to him, the calculations of forces are still ongoing.

Stoiko noted that the students and cadets of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be involved in the protection of polling stations and ensuring public order.

In addition, some 39,000 employees of the State Service for Emergency Situations and 13,500 servicemen of the National Guard will be on duty during the elections.
