Some 602 settlements across Ukraine de-energized amid bad weather

Residents of 602 settlements across Ukraine experienced blackout after worsening weather conditions. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine.

To SES, residents of two oblasts, namely Sumy and Chernihiv, remained without electricity.

“As of 7:00 a.m. of January 31, some 602 settlements in two oblasts of Ukraine saw a blackout after power line safety system was triggered due to complicated weather conditions   including precipitation and wind gusts, namely: 440 settlements in Sumy Oblast and another 162 in Chernihiv Oblast,” the statement said.

Oblasts energy distribution companies (Oblenergo) deployed their repair teamsto tackle blackouts.
