According to the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia news agency, adviser to the US President Donald Tramp on national security, John Bolton, called on the authorities to make the most of their opportunities to protect the elections and ensure information security.
«Washington should demonstrate seriousness, and start responding to cyber attacks or any other attempt to interfere in US elections or penetrate American computer systems, regardless of where the threat comes from,» – Bolton told ABC television.
It is known that Bolton has told about computer systems that are largely at risk of cyber attacks. This is about the governmental sphere and private business.
«We want peace in cyberspace. To do this, it is necessary to establish structures of deterrence so that our adversaries who have conducted operations against us or who are contemplating it come to understand that they will pay a high price if they do that,» – Bolton concretized.
