The White House announced Thursday (Feb 21) that a small peacekeeping group of about 200 will remain in Syria after the withdrawal of U.S. troops. This was reported by Reuters.

"A small peacekeeping group of about 200 will remain in Syria for a period of time," the report said.

It is noted that the United States plans to withdraw its troops until the end of April this year. During this time, Washington should finally solve the issue of protecting the Kurds from a possible attack from Turkey. However, the withdrawal of American soldiers may slow down in case a decision will not be made.
