US: Increasing import of Russian gas to EU undermines national security of European countries

The United States of America has urged that the growth of import of Russian gas to the European Union threatens to the national security of European countries.

This is reported by the US Embassy in Ukraine with reference to the American mission to the European Union.

«Europe’s dependence on Russian gas is growing. In 2017, the import of Russian gas to the EU increased by 12%. Such dependence threatens not only to the energy security of the continent, but also poses a threat to the national security of the EU member states,» – the report said.
