United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker notes that Russia’s intervention caused a severe humanitarian crisis in Donbas.

«As I saw during my last visit, there is a hot war in eastern Ukraine that has created a grinding, degrading humanitarian crisis all caused by Russia’s intervention», – Volker stressed.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine needs peace.
«We continue to support the deployment of the UN peacekeepers to Donbas to simplify the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, but Russia’s proposal of a «protection force» for an OSCE will not lead to results», – Volker said.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Russia opposes the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission throughout the whole of the area of occupied Donbas.
