USA imposes sanctions against the military structures of Russia for violating law on weapons of mass destruction

The US State Department imposed sanctions against the military and industrial structures of several countries for violating the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The blacklist included six defense structures of Russia as well as three private individuals, 27 companies and organizations from several States, including Syria, Iran, North Korea, China and Egypt, reported US Ambassy in Ukraine.

Defense structures of the Russian Federation included in the sanctions list are: the 183rd Guards Air Defense Missile Regiment, the Instrument Design Bureau in Tula, Training Center for SAM systems in Gatchina, the 18th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Kursk, the Scientific and Production Concern «BARL».

The General Directorate of the General Staff (GRU) is mentioned separately in the new sanctions list.

As «The Journalist» reported, the US imposed new sanctions against state-owned company «Rosoboronexport».
