White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders said that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will go on official visit to North Korea on July 5. This is reported by Reuters.
During the visit, which will last till July 7, Pompeo plans to meet with the DPRK leadership to discuss the country’s denuclearization plans on the Korean peninsula.
It would be the first trip of the Secretary of State to North Korea since U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un held meeting on June 12, in Singapore.
After visiting the DPRK, Mike Pompeo will travel to Tokyo, where he will discuss Korean denuclearization with the leadership of Japan and South Korea.
